Executive Branch
The Executive Cabinet are the "Top 4" elected officers of the Student Government Association: the Student Body President, the Executive Vice President, the Academic Vice President and the Services Vice President. The Executive Cabinet serve on various University committees and are the chief liaisons to the University administration, faculty and staff.
The roles of each are thus:
- The Student Body President is the chief executive of SGA, representing all students in correspondence with University administration, faculty, staff, and other universities. The Student Body President administers the policies, procedures, and programs of SGA as determined by the Senate. They are also the student representative on the Board of Trustees.
- The Executive Vice President works with UofL Athletics, Campus Constituencies, and serves as the President of the Student Senate. The EVP administers the internal operations and policies of SGA.
- The Academic Vice President administers the academic policies and programs of SGA, primarily working with the University’s deans and faculty. They also serve as the student representative to the Faculty senate.
- The Services Vice President administers the services, service policies, and programs of the SGA. They work with a range of student services, including but not limited to safety, housing, dining, and construction.
The Executive Staff are appointed by the Executive Cabinet with the approval of the Student Senate. They aid in various tasks, including but not limited to internal affairs, marketing, outreach, communications, and policy. Each member of Top 4 has a personal assistant, who are delegated tasks as determined by their specific officer.
