Student Activities Board
Student Activities Board (SAB) provides social, recreational, and educational activities for UofL students and the university community. As the programming arm of the Student Government Association (SGA), SAB strives to provide quality, fun, and educational events and programs that benefit the entire student body. Through SAB, students can get involved, build connections, and gain valuable experience while helping shape the UofL campus experience.

Engage Lead Serve Board
Engage Lead Serve Board (ELSB) strives to enhance the education of students by providing structured experiential and developmental opportunities that encourage community engagement, model good leadership, and allow active service. The board promotes collaboration between organizations and focus areas that encourage philanthropy, service, leadership development, and civic engagement.

Student Organization Advisory Board
The Student Organization Advisory Board (SOAB) fosters a healthy environment for Registered Student Organizations (RSO) by providing workshops, RSO development training, dispersing funding through the Club Programming Committee, reviewing applications for new organizations, and RSO Fairs featuring over 400 organizations.

Leadership Development
First-Year Leadership Development Program
First-Year Leadership Program (FYLP) is a 20-week program that equips 60-80 first-year students with the skills, knowledge, and passion to lead and positively impact campus by driving initiatives, advocating for varying populations, and fostering a strong sense of community. Through immersive community experiences, service projects, and practical training, students are able to develop their leadership potential to create meaningful change.
Cardinal Conclave Leadership Retreat
The Cardinal Conclave is a 3-day, 2-night leadership retreat that offers a unique opportunity for University of Louisville students to deepen their leadership skills, enhance self-awareness, and build a supportive community. It provides an engaging, hands-on learning environment that fosters personal and professional growth, setting our students apart from their peers and positioning them for future success in their academic and leadership endeavors.
Trailblazer Leadership Institute
TLI geared at University of Louisville Students to help them take their Leadership on Campus to another level whether they want to be a better student org officer, coworker, etc. During this program, students will learn about Goal Setting, Clifton Strengths, Conflict Management, Effective Communication, Risk Management, and so much more.
MOSAIC Leadership Experience
This 3-day, 2-night retreat is designed around identity development and emphasizes personal growth, self-awareness, and the development of meaningful connections and identifying the barriers that prevent us from developing those relationships.
ACC Leadership Symposium
Student leaders from each of the ACC Institutions will have the opportunity to learn through intensive engagement in educational sessions, keynote addresses, topical content exploration, simulations and experiential application. Each Institution allots up to 5 students to participate in this three-day leadership conference aimed at engaging students with peers across the Atlantic Coast Conference. The 2026 ACC Leadership Symposium will take place at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia.
National Society of Leadership & Success
Sophomores and above choose to participate in program activities that help them achieve personal growth, career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact on their communities.
Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society
Rising juniors and above with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA may apply for this prestigious national honor society, which honors and develops leaders through scholarships, workshops, career development, leadership resources, and a lifelong connection to other members.
Signature Events
Every August, we welcome thousands of new Cardinals to campus! Welcome Week helps you discover ways to get involved, connect with support and resources, find your place at UofL, and learn what it means to be a Cardinal - all while making new friends and memories along the way.
Each September, SOUL: Day of Service brings UofL students together to give back to the city we call home through meaningful service projects and connections with the Louisville community.
Cardinal Family Weekend brings students and their families together for a weekend full of UofL spirit, connection, and fun. From campus activities to cheering on the Cards, it’s a chance to experience UofL, spend time together, and make lasting memories.
Each fall, Homecoming Week brings Cardinals together to celebrate UofL pride and traditions. We invite alumni back to reconnect with campus, while current students enjoy events and experiences that build community, create memories, and celebrate what it means to be a Cardinal.
Each Homecoming Week, the NPHC Step Show brings the UofL community together for a high-energy celebration of stepping, organization pride, and tradition. Members of the Divine Nine take the stage to showcase their talent and creativity through unforgettable performances.
Each January, UofL’s MLK Day of Service brings Cardinals together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through meaningful service in the Louisville community. Hosted by the Engage Lead Serve Board (ELSB), the event provides opportunities to serve, connect, and make an impact.
A UofL tradition since 1937, Fryberger Greek Sing honors Agnes Moore Fryberger, a UofL music professor who inspired her students' love of music. Today, Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council chapters carry on her legacy by taking the stage with original performances featuring music, choreography, costumes, and plenty of Cardinal spirit.
A longstanding UofL tradition, the International Fashion Show brings students together for an evening of fashion, music, and performance. Hosted by the Student Activities Board (SAB), the show features students showcasing attire and traditions from around the world.
One of UofL’s longest-running traditions, the Annual Crawfish Boil brings Cardinals together each spring for crawfish, music, and fun at the Red Barn. Hosted by the Student Activities Board (SAB) and the Red Barn, this campus favorite has been creating memories for generations of students.
