Where do I get my student ID? You can get your student ID at the Cardinal Card office located in the lower level of Houchens. Your ID is needed for nearly every transaction on campus including checking out books at the library, attending campus events, entry to the Student Recreation Center (SRC), printing on campus, etc.
What if I have questions about my class schedule? If you have any questions about scheduling classes, contact the Registrar’s office in Houchens. You can also find your schedule on Blackboard through ULink located on the University of Louisville’s homepage.
Where can I park on campus as a commuter student? Commuters are eligible for the purple parking permit ($100/year). The commuter lot is located next to the Cardinal Stadium. The Cardinal Shuttle (TARC #94) runs from the stadium every 5-7 minutes and is free for all UofL Students with valid Cardinal Card. Purchasing is available in-person at the parking office, or online through the UofL parking website.
Where do I find out what books I need and where can I buy them? The University of Louisville Bookstore is located on the first floor of the Student Activities Center (SAC). All class books are available there. Your required books can be found through Blackboard on your class syllabus.
Where can I eat on campus? There are many options for dining for commuters on campus. In the Student Activities Center, you will find a variety of options, including Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s, and Papa John’s along with many other options. Subway is located in Davidson Hall, and McCallister’s is located in the Miller IT Center. The Ville Grille is another popular student dining option and is located on the corner of third street.
I need to use a computer. Where do I go? Several computer labs are available on campus, including labs in Ekstrom Library, the Digital Media Suite, or the Belknap Academic Building (BAB). Laptop rentals are also available through Ekstrom Library as well. The only thing needed is either your student ID or your UofL email and password.
I’m not feeling well. What do I do? The University of Louisville Campus Health, located on Central Avenue next to Cardinal Stadium, is available for your acute and psychiatric medical needs. For more details or to make an appointment, please visit the Campus Health website. Appointments are not required but are encouraged.
What recreational services are available on campus? A variety of recreational activities are available on campus, from intramurals through the Student Recreation Center (SRC), the Office of Student Involvement, or almost any other university center or office. To learn more, follow your desired organization on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook!
How do I know if classes have been canceled? You can check your University Email or sign up to receive emergency text message (RAVE) alerts from the University. You can sign up for these message alerts through the University of Louisville website and follow the posted instructions.
How can I meet people on campus? You get involved in intramurals, join student organizations, attend campus programs, study on campus, and hang out at the Student Activities Center.
How can I get involved? For a list of all recognized student organizations (as well as information on how to start your own organization), visit the Engage Website and login with your university credentials.
Where can I find Federal Work Study positions or campus employment? Federal Work Study can be granted through the Financial Aid Office after expressing interest on your FAFSA. Federal Work Study positions, as well as on- and off- campus jobs are posted on Handshake through the University Career Center. Resume help, career assessments, and mock interviews are offered for additional assistance. If an appointment is needed, the University Career Center is located in the lower level of Houchens.
I need help in my classes, who can help? Free tutoring is offered to students through REACH, located in the Belknap Academic Building (BAB). Individual or group tutoring sessions can be scheduled through appointment or by drop-in. The Student Success Center, also located in the BAB, is another resource offered to students to help first- and second-year students develop personal connections, skills, and knowledge to help with your college transition.
