Student Facilities and Severe Weather Operations

During inclement weather, the University aims to maintain essential services while ensuring the safety of students, faculty, and staff. Many facilities remain open with adjusted hours.

Food Services

Wednesday 1/28

  • Ville Grill: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Zoca: 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • SAC
    • Eiffel Pizza: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
    • Zen Sushi: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Swain Student Activities Center (SAC)

Open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Monday - Friday)

Canon Print and Mail

  • Monday 1/26  - Closed
  • Tuesday 1/27 - 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday 1/28 - 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

UofL Bookstore

  • Monday 1/26 - Closed
  • Tuesday 1/27  - 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

University Housing & the Resident Experience (UHRE)

  • If classes are canceled or the campus is closed, the UHRE main office will be closed.
  • If the university shifts to remote operations, UHRE will operate remotely from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., and phones and the main service account will be monitored.
  • If there is a delayed opening, the UHRE main office will open when the campus opens.
  • During campus closures, remote operations, and delayed openings, a selection of area desks will remain open, and on-call staff will be available.
  • For emergencies, contact ULPD at 502-852-6111.

University Libraries

  • If classes are canceled or the campus is closed, all Belknap Campus libraries and Kornhauser Health Sciences Library will be closed.
  • If there is a delayed opening, libraries will open when the campus opens.
  • On remote operating days, Ekstrom Library maintains an online chat M-F from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may also use the Ask a Reference Question link on the University Libraries website to direct a question to a specific library or contact a specific clinical/subject specialist librarian through links on each library website.
  • The University Libraries extensive electronic resources (databases, journals, subject guides, and e-books) are available 24/7 regardless of closed or remote status.

Student Recreation Center (SRC) & HSC Fitness Center

  • If there is a delay, facilities will open when the university opens. If classes are remote or canceled, the HSC Fitness Center will be closed, and the SRC will operate from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • For weekend weather events, hours may vary. Call 502-852-7850 to confirm hours before visiting.
