Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity
Designated as a Carnegie Research 1 University, the University of Louisville gives you the opportunity to partner with internationally renowned faculty who work at the forefront of discovery in their respective disciplines.
Participation in research and creative activity involves a collaborative partnership between a student and a faculty or graduate student mentor. The partnership may be initiated by a student who seeks out a research mentor, or by faculty member may recruit students to work in their labs or creative spaces.
The Office for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity can help you get involved and support your participation in a number of ways.

KY Environmental Education Pipeline (KEEP) 2025
Applications now open for KEEP, a paid summer research program for UofL rising juniors and seniors to do research and explore careers in environmental health sciences. 2025 program dates: May 19 – July 25 Application rolling deadline, with first review March 3, 2025.
UofL One-Year Postbaccalaureate Program
Interested in pursuing a PhD in biomedical science but not ready to apply to a PhD program? UL-BIOMED-PREP is a paid interdisciplinary postbaccalaureate program offering research experience, professional development workshops and tuition-free courses for graduates who are interested in pursuing a PhD in science. Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP)
The Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) provides University of Louisville undergraduate students an intensive 10-week research experience with a faculty mentor in any discipline (students in the arts and humanities students are particularly encouraged to apply).

Undergraduate Arts & Research Showcase
The university-wide Undergraduate Arts & Research Showcase provides an opportunity for undergraduates to share their expertise with the larger university community. This showcase will show the variety of academic work that our undergraduate students are doing across the university. We encourage participation from all colleges and departments.

ACC Meeting of the Minds
Undergraduate students are invited to participate in the 2025 ACC Meeting of the Minds Conference at the University of Pittsburgh. Each ACC school will send five students to give presentations on original research in either a poster or oral format.

Posters at the Capitol
With unique research projects on display, Posters-at-the-Capitol helps to increase understanding of the important role undergraduate research plays in the education of our students among those responsible for higher education funding in Kentucky. This annual event showcases faculty-mentored scholarly posters by undergraduate students from each state-funded university in the Commonwealth.
