Summer Research Opportunity Program

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is offering a 10-week research experience for undergraduates during the Summer. The program is open to students from all disciplines.

What is SROP?

The Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) provides University of Louisville undergraduate students an intensive 10-week research experience with a faculty mentor in any discipline (students in the arts and humanities students are particularly encouraged to apply). Students should identify a faculty member who agrees to serve as a research mentor over the summer prior to applying to the program.

This year's deadline to apply is March 10th, and awards will be made before the end of March. The program will run from May 19, 2025 - July 25, 2025 with a Summer Research Showcase to be held on July 25.

The Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) is designed for the advancement of our goal to involve more undergraduate students in research and creative activities. The SROP program is open to all eligible students regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age.

“It can be important for students to participate in an undergraduate research opportunity because they’ll see how the content that they’re learning in the classroom can be applied in a real-world setting.”
