Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP)
Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP)
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is offering a 10-week research experience for undergraduates during the Summer.
The Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) provides University of Louisville undergraduate students an intensive 10-week research experience with a faculty mentor in any discipline (students in the arts and humanities students are particularly encouraged to apply). Students should identify a faculty member who agrees to serve as a research mentor over the summer prior to applying to the program.
SROP students will also participate in a weekly, virtual professional development program that will offer seminars on topics such as time management, resume building, applying to graduate school, stress management, and others. Students will present a poster on their research accomplishments at a Summer Research Showcase at the end of the 10 week internship. Students will receive a stipend of $3,500 over the 10 weeks, and faculty mentors will receive a $500 research allowance to support the student's SROP project or to provide the student with a professional development opportunity. This year's deadline to apply is March 10th, and awards will be made before the end of March. The program will run from, May 19, 2025 - July 25, 2025.
For more information, contact Dr. Paul DeMarco, Director, Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity.
