The University of Louisville Code of Student Conduct process complies with KRS 164.370 and KRS 164.372 (Kentucky Campus Due Process Protection Act) and other applicable federal and state laws. In accordance with KRS 164.372, the University of Louisville electronically publishes its annual report on student conduct.
The Stop Campus Hazing Act requires institutions of higher education (IHEs) that participate in federal student aid programs to report hazing incidents. The Act also renames the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act as the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act.
Specifically, the Act requires each IHE to disclose hazing incidents reported to campus security authorities or local law enforcement agencies in its Annual Security Report, which is published each October.
Additionally, each IHE must develop a campus hazing transparency report that summarizes findings for any student organization found responsible for violating the institution’s code of conduct related to hazing.
Each alleged hazing incident:
- Must be included in the Campus Hazing Transparency Report, when a student organization is found responsible under institutional policy.
- May also be required to be reported under state law, depending on jurisdiction.
- Is published by the institution as part of its Clery Annual Security Report and/or separately, as required by law.
In accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, applicable state law, and the Code of Student Conduct, the information below provides the institution’s required campus hazing transparency report. Hazing incident data must be collected, reviewed, and published by the institution as part of its ongoing commitment to campus safety and transparency.
