Housed within the Dean of Students Office, case managers at the University of Louisville (UofL) are dedicated to assisting students facing challenges such as mental health concerns, academic struggles, relationship issues, food insecurity, and other crises. By connecting students with resources, providing education, and offering expert guidance, we empower them to identify their needs, overcome obstacles, and navigate complex processes to stay on track and achieve their goals.
Case Management at UofL offers inclusive, comprehensive support services that address all aspects of student well-being. These services help students navigate a variety of challenges during their time at the university, including mental health, physical health, social adjustment, and other personal or academic concerns, ensuring they have the tools and support needed for success.
How Can Case Management Help?
Are you feeling overwhelmed, struggling with a relationship or family issue, falling behind in your classes, experiencing anxiety or depression, worried about housing or food, or concerned about someone who is?
Case Managers at the University of Louisville are dedicated to supporting your personal growth, development, and success. We understand that college can present unique challenges, and life events like a family loss, personal crisis, or medical hardship can impact your academic and personal well-being.
Case Management is here for you, especially if you’re unsure where to turn. No matter how complex or unique your situation is, we are here to help!
We can assist by answering questions, exploring support options, connecting you with resources, identifying the best steps forward, and, most importantly, ensuring you have the support you need throughout your UofL journey.
What is Case Management?
Case management at the University of Louisville provides personalized support through assessment, intervention, and coordination of services to help students navigate challenging or unexpected situations that may affect their well-being and academic success. Whether facing medical, mental health, behavioral, personal, or family crises, illnesses, or injuries, students may struggle to access the right resources and services. Case managers are here to offer support, helping students overcome barriers and enhance their holistic well-being.
It’s important to note that student case management is not counseling or therapy. Instead, case managers build meaningful, supportive relationships with students, guiding them toward effective self-care and self-advocacy while empowering them to take charge of their success.
