The University of Louisville’s Conduct Hearing Council offers students, faculty, and staff a unique opportunity to serve the campus community while developing essential skills such as conflict resolution, critical thinking, assertiveness, empathetic listening, ethical decision-making, and promoting civility within the University community.
About the Council
The Student Conduct Hearing Council is composed of students, faculty, and staff who hear cases involving alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct by students or student organizations. Members receive comprehensive training to prepare for their responsibilities, ensuring they are equipped to facilitate hearings and make informed recommendations.
For formal hearings, a three-member panel is selected from the trained Council members. This panel reviews cases, considers evidence, and provides recommendations on findings and sanctions to the Assistant Dean of Students.
