Standardized Class Start Times
New Standardized Class Start Times
Below are the standardized course start times for all Fall/Spring 500-level or below undergraduate courses taught on Belknap campus. All courses will start at one of the times listed below, no matter the number of credit hours or duration of class.
UofL STANDARD class start times
· MWF: 8:00a, 9:00a, 10:00a, 11:00a, 12:00p, 1:00p, 2:00p, 3:00p, 4:00p, 5:00p
· TR: 8:00a, 9:30a, 11:00a, 1:00p, 2:30p, 4:00p
· MW can use MWF or TR start times: 8:00a, 9:00a, 9:30a, 10:00a, 11:00a, 12:00p, 1:00p, 2:00p, 2:30p, 3:00p, 4:00p, 5:00p
Notes:
1. Courses that start earlier than 8:00a can be scheduled for any start time.
2. Courses that start after 5:00p can be scheduled for any start time.
3. It is expected that all Fall/Spring 000-500-level undergraduate courses will follow these standard start times. Requests for exceptions to the start times will be handled by the Provost’s Office.
4. Courses that are offered 1 day a week (e.g. seminars, labs, recitations, etc.) will follow the MWF or TR start times depending on which day the course is scheduled.
5. UofL does not have enough capacity (either classroom or course sections) to move to all MW and TR classes. The number of MW class offerings should be limited, and we must have a substantial number of courses offered MWF.
Effective:
The above new standardized class start times will go into effect for Fall 2026 classes.
