Welcome to the School of Nursing
Advising is a valuable academic resource. Our advisors meet with current and prospective UofL students who want to explore nursing as a major.
As a partner in your success journey, advisors work with you to explore your personal, academic and career goals. Advisors support students in discussing degree options, graduation timelines, and providing guidance.
The Undergraduate Advising Office is located on main Belknap Campus in the HP/Studio Arts Building at the corner of Floyd and University Streets. Students may opt to either meet with their advisor in-person or online through Microsoft TEAMS.
Owensboro Campus advising is available by appointment Monday through Thursday at the School of Nursing facilities located in the Breckenridge Medical Center. The Owensboro Extension can be reached at todd.richardson@louisville.edu.
Advising is required for any students who meet the following criteria:
- Students with fewer than 28 completed hours
- Transfer, first semester admits
- Conditional Admit Status
- Academic Warning
- Academic Probation
Pre-Nursing students in the College of Arts & Sciences should contact Exploratory and Transition Advising.

The School of Nursing requires all transfer students to have a minimum 2.8 cumulative undergraduate college GPA. If you have questions about transfer equivalencies, please see the Transfer Resources webpage. If you have questions about required lower division classes, please see our Curriculum webpage.
