Unit Admissions Requirements
UofL is home to nine undergraduate colleges and schools (units), which have varying admission requirements. See what requirements you must meet to be admitted to your unit of choice. For more information, we recommend checking the Undergraduate Catalog.
- A&S majors have varying admission requirements. Find them at: http://louisville.edu/artsandsciences/advising/apply
BSBA degrees (Accountancy, Business Economics, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Equine Business, Finance, Management, and Marketing)
- 2.8 GPA and completion of MATH 111 or higher required for admission.
BBA degree
- 2.5 GPA required for admission.
Exercise Physiology and SPAD
- 2.25 GPA required for admission.
- 2.75 GPA and C or better in ENGL 102 and OC for professional portion of Exercise Physiology Physical & Health Education track
OLL
- 2.0 UofL GPA (can petition if below)
- Must have at least 1 year of supervised work experience
Teacher Education
- 2.25 GPA required for admission.
- 2.75 GPA required for admission to professional program.
- Completion of a minimum of 30 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0,
- Completion of CMDS 245 (Survey of Communication Disorders) with a grade of C or higher,
- Completion of CMDS 270 (Clinical Observation) with a grade of “pass”, and
- Completion of an online program application.
Note: [Transfer students with 24 credit hours and a minimum 3.0 expanded GPA may be admitted directly to the upper division if they have equivalencies for CMDS 245 and CMDS 270.]
- 2.0 GPA required for admission to Lower Division.
- 2.5 GPA and 45 hours completed required for Upper Division. Upper Division admission not guaranteed with 2.5 GPA; other factors are also considered, see info here: https://louisville.edu/kent/admissions-1/bsw-admissions.
- 2.8 combined UofL and transfer GPA required for admission to Lower Division.
- 2.8 combined UofL and transfer GPA and 3.0 program GPA required to apply for application for selective Upper Division (3.5 GPA recommended, see info on their website)
- 2.75 GPA and successful audition required for admission (see info here: https://louisville.edu/music/apply/undergraduate/audition-requirements).
- 2.8 combined UofL and transfer GPA, and 12 hours completed at UofL required for admission to Lower Division.
- 2.8 combined UofL and transfer GPA, and 3.0 Program GPA required to apply for selective Upper Division (see info here: https://louisville.edu/nursing/academics/bsn/louisville/admissions).
- 2.0 GPA required for general BA and BS Public Health degrees.
- 2.8 GPA along with specific BIOL and MATH grades required for BS track in Professional Health Studies.
BS Degrees (Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering)
- 2.8 GPA and B- or better in MATH 111 or MATH 190 and CHEM 101.
Computer Science BA
- Less than 12 hours earned: 3.0 high school GPA, ACT COMP and MATH 23+ or SAT MATH 560+; and must meet freshmen requirements and have 2.8 college GPA
- 12-23 hours earned: 2.8 GPA, ACT READ 20+ or completion of ENGL 101, and B- or better in MATH 111
- More than 24 hours earned: 2.8 GPA and B- or better in MATH 111
