Overview

SGA is proud to represent the student body on campus and in the community. Through SGA, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for students to contribute to this purpose. There are many ways to get involved in Student Government:

  • First-year students can apply to be a part of our Cards LEAD and Advance UofL programs. These groups foster leadership skills by preparing students for roles in student government and promote community building among under and upperclassmen.
  • Attend student council through your college and have a direct impact on events and initiatives that affect students in your field.
  • Volunteer through the Engage Lead Serve Board. Opportunities for service are available on Engage.
  • Attend events and programs hosted by the Student Activities Board.
  • Apply to serve on a committee through SAB or ELSB to help directly plan events and initiatives for the student body.
  • All students have the opportunity to run in the General Election for a position in the Student Senate, Top Four, or to be the President or Vice President of their college. Elections occur in the Spring semester.
  • Attend SGA Senate meetings to stay up to date on legislation and updates on SGA affairs. Dates and locations for these meetings are posted on the SGA Instagram, @uoflsga.
