Benefits for Military-Connected Students
List of Benefits
Priority Course Registration
Students who are currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and Veterans of the US Military (any branch, any component) are eligible for Priority Course Registration, meaning you will get to choose your classes at an earlier date than the general student population. Unfortunately, this benefit does not extend to dependents.
Military Request to Withdraw with 100% Refund
If a Military Student is notified of a deployment for a training event, natural disaster, or combat mission that will impact their ability to complete their courses, the student can request a Military Withdraw with 100% Tuition Refund. Students need to complete the form below and email it along with a copy of their orders to their assigned academic advisor and the Center for Military-Connected Students at milconstu@louisville.edu
A determination will be made by the Registrar's Office to approve or disapprove the request.
Center for Military-Connected Students (CFMCS) Financial Hardship Fund
Through generous support from Canon and the Kentucky Department of of Veterans Affairs, the Center for Military-Connected Students is pleased to have a military-connected student hardship fund. The purpose of the fund is to assist military-connected students who encounter unforeseen financial hardship to stay in school.
- The funds are not intended to replace or supplement existing financial aid. Receiving funding from the Hardship Fund may negatively impact student financial aid packages.
- The funds are not intended to be used for routine expenses. Requests must be of a hardship nature.
- Hardship Funds can only be applied to a student’s University of Louisville student financial account. If applying the funds results in a negative balance, a refund is generated for the student.
- The number of students who can be served by the fund is subject to the availability of funds.
To apply students must email the fully completed form, including all supporting documentation, to milconstu@louisville.edu. Failure to fully complete the application or provide supporting documentation will result in the application being denied.
