Bringing Credits into UofL

In alignment with American Council on Education (ACE) transfer credit guidelines, we support the application of transfer and military credit for military and veteran students. UofL may grant credit for military course completion after review of each applicant's military service experience. The American Council on Education's (ACE) "Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services" will be used to evaluate military experience. UofL grants credit for Military educational courses. To transfer your educational courses, we required submission of a Joint Services Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force transcript. Military credits are awarded on a "pass" (no letter grade) basis. We do not limit the total number of credits which can be obtained through military service experience, as long as they are all degree applicable. For more information, please visit our Bringing Credits into UofL page.

Joint Service Transcripts (JST)

Joint Services Transcript (JST) is a record of a Servicemember's military education, training and experience with college credit recommendations developed by the American Council on Education (ACE). Official Joint Service Transcripts can be ordered and sent electronically to any Academic Institution (AI) by logging on to the JST website using your Common Access Card (CAC).  Students must request that the transcripts be sent to the University of Louisville Third Street address for prompt delivery of your military transcripts. Your transcripts will be delivered to the university electronically.

Air University / Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)

Air Force Transcripts can be ordered through Parchment for active duty members and veterans of the Air Force. They will be delivered to the University of Louisville electronically.

DANTES Funded CLEP/DSST Exam Transcripts

Scores for all DANTES-funded exams are automatically reported to the Joint Services Transcript (JST). Air Force scores are also reported to the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), AFAEMS, and the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) website.

A no-cost score report is delivered to two institutions of choice, if designated during online registration using the institution(s)’ four-digit institution code(s).

Servicemembers can also pay for a consolidated transcript that includes CLEP and DSST exams using the online transcript ordering service

Most scores can be reviewed online at the testing agencies website, within two to four weeks after test administration. Requesting scores and transcripts may be different for each of the DANTES-funded exams.

Students who are currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and Veterans of the U.S. Military (any branch, any component) are eligible for Priority Course Registration, meaning you will get to choose your classes at an earlier date than the general student population. Unfortunately, this benefit does not extend to dependents.
