There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of what a successful student looks like--we believe success is defined for each of us by each of us. But successful students do share some important characteristics that we can help students develop.
Successful students make intentional and informed choices; persist to a timely completion in their chosen pathways; utilize campus resources as appropriate; and make meaningful connections with peers, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners. They are prepared academically and personally to engage in their educations and the post-degree pursuits of their choosing.
Where to find us
Directions to Belknap Academic Building
The Belknap Academic Building is the large building located across the street from the Houchens Building. See F4 on this campus map to see the location on campus, or look at the Campus Map or Frequent Contacts in the UofL New Cards app.
The main entrance is on the side of the building that faces Lutz Hall and the Shumaker Research Building. If you go into the main entrance, you’ll see a large white reception desk by Exploratory & Transition Advising (to the left as you look at the main staircase). Stop by that desk for any questions as well as laptop pickup.
If you have trouble finding us, call the Student Success Center at 502-852-7969.
