Judicial

The SGA Supreme Court is the Judicial Branch of SGA. It is composed of a Chief Justice and six Associate Justices. No academic unit may hold more than one seat on the Court, and at least one seat must be reserved for the Brandeis School of Law and one for a student from the Health Sciences Campus. The Court adjudicates disputes between student organizations, branches of SGA, and election-related issues, and serves as the official interpreter of the SGA Constitution and Bylaws.

Justices are nominated by the Student Body President and confirmed by the Student Senate. The Chief Justice may appoint a Court Clerk to assist with the Court’s administrative duties.

The Compliance Officer ensures that all branches and entities of SGA comply with the Constitution and Bylaws, as well as any governing documents specific to councils or boards. The Compliance Officer also has the authority to bring forth cases, as defined by the SGA Constitution, against any member or entity of SGA (with the exception of councils).
