8 Dimensions of Wellness

1

Career

Creating personal satisfaction and enrichment from one’s work. Career Wellness is more than just putting in your best effort at work; it is finding meaning and satisfaction with what you do.

Connect with the Career Center or Hire Attire to enrich your career wellness.

2

Emotional

Coping effectively with life and creating satisfying relationships. Emotional wellness controls how we react to and process our feelings. Having good emotional wellness is key to responding to emotional events in a healthy way.

Connect with the Counseling Center or PEACC Center to enrich your emotional wellness.

3

Environmental

Occupying pleasant, stimulating environments that support wellbeing. Environmental wellness affects how we interact with ourselves, our community, and the environment around us. A healthy planet and environment help promote a healthy mind.

Connect with Garden Commons, UofL Sustainability, or Outdoor Recreation to enrich your environmental wellness.

4

Financial

Feeling satisfied with current and future financial situations. Financial Wellness is essential for managing our expenses. Having good money management skills is crucial for limiting stress.

Connect with the Financial Aid Office, the Office of the Bursar, or Student Success Center to enrich your financial wellness.

5

Intellectual

Recognizing creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills. Intellectual wellness is how we keep a sharp and active mind. The mind is a muscle we must exercise, and students have even more reason to hone those intellectual skills.

Connect with Reach Tutoring, the Writing Center, or Ekstrom Library to enrich your intellectual wellness.

6

Physical

Recognizing the need for physical activity, healthy foods, and sleep. Physical Wellness is all about helping your body feel the best that it can. Whether that be through eating the right foods or engaging in physical activity, a healthy body helps make a healthy mind.

Connect with our Group Fitness Schedule, BRICC, Intramural Sports, or the Health Center to enrich your physical wellness.

7

Social

Developing a sense of connection, belonging, and a well-developed support system. Social wellness impacts how we build relationships in our lives. Healthy and meaningful relationships with our friends, family, and community create a sense of belonging.

Connect with Engage or UofL's Event Calendar to enrich your social wellness.

8

Spiritual

Expanding a sense of purpose and meaning in life. Spiritual wellness is how we find meaning and purpose in our lives and even how we discover our inner selves. Whether that be through faith, morals or the driving principles we live our lives by.

Connect with Ignite the Ville or Religion at UofL to enrich your spiritual wellness.
