APPLICATIONS REOPENING FALL 2025 MASS Scholarship applications are now closed and will re-open in Fall 2025.
The MASS Scholarship provides essential support for University Honors Program students facing financial challenges in purchasing academic materials. Originally established through the generous contributions of Mature Adult Student Society (MASS) members, this scholarship reflects our community's commitment to ensuring that financial barriers don't prevent academic success.
Scholarship Support
Two to three scholarships are awarded annually, ranging from $100 to $250, specifically designated for books and supplies for spring semester classes. While the amounts may seem modest, these awards provide crucial support at exactly the right time – helping dedicated students access the materials they need to excel in their coursework.
To qualify for MASS Scholarship consideration, students must:
- Demonstrate financial need for academic materials
- Show active involvement in the University Honors Program
- Be enrolled in spring semester courses requiring textbooks and supplies
The MASS Scholarship seeks University Honors Program students who exemplify academic dedication despite financial challenges. This award welcomes applications from all eligible students who need support accessing required academic materials.
Ideal candidates demonstrate:
- Strong academic commitment and clear educational goals
- Active engagement in the Honors community
- Genuine financial need for textbooks and course supplies
- Professional aspirations that benefit from continued education
When applications reopen in Fall 2025, candidates must submit:
- Personal letter outlining:
- Academic plans and current professional goals
- Overall financial need situation
- Projected textbook and supply expenses for spring semester
