Welcome Week 2026 takes place Thursday, August 13–Sunday, August 16, with select events on Wednesday, August 12 for early move-in students and commuters who are able to make it to campus that evening.

Dinner is on us at the annual Cardinal Kickoff Dinner, taking place on Thursday, August 13.

Join SAB as they kick off Welcome Week at the SAB Block Party on Thursday, August 13.
Academic Open Houses
Learn what it means to be part of your college and major at various academic open houses on Friday, August 14.
Louisville Alumni Picnic and Tie Dye Party
Once a Cardinal, Always a Cardinal! Join the Louisville Alumni office for dinner and a tie-dye party on Friday, August 14.
Night at the Rec.
Explore the SRC and everything Campus Recreation and Wellness has to offer at the Night at the Rec., taking place Friday, August 14.
Offices Open Special Hours
On Saturday, between 11 am and 2 pm, the Registrar, Financial Aid, Bursar, Parking, Cardinal card and University Housing and Resident Experience offices will be open for students to take care of business before classes begin.
UofL Night at Kentucky Kingdom
Cards are taking over Kentucky Kingdom on Saturday, August 15. Only UofL students (with valid ID) can ride the coasters at one of Louisville's landmarks right down the road.
