PEACC is here to provide confidential advocacy to students, faculty and staff on the Belknap, Health Sciences and Shelby campuses. We provide these services to those who have experienced sexual assault, partner violence or stalking. As advocates, we listen, confidentially answer questions, share options and work with you to find the support you want. However you choose to move forward, PEACC is here to provide support.
Advocacy Services:
The types of advocacy services can include
- Crisis counseling and safety planning
- Referrals to on- and off- campus service providers
- Accompanying you to court proceedings
- Assistance in reporting to law enforcement or campus officials
- Accompanying you to medical appointments including sexual assault forensic exams
- Assistance in requesting academic extensions or accommodations
- Assistance in requesting short-term emergency housing
- Referrals to counseling, psychiatric services or other providers
- Assistance in finding legal representation or Title IX advisors
Advocacy services are confidential. Advocates are required to report when child abuse or neglect is suspected, or if we feel you may harm yourself or others, under Kentucky law.

For services after hours, contact the Center for Women and Families’ 24 hour crisis line at 844-237-2331 or ULPD at 852-6111 in the case of an emergency.
Survivor Network:
Led by a group of student survivors, PEACC established a survivor network in 2016. Their desire was to find space not only to connect together in the reality of the situations they had survived, but to have opportunities to thrive together in a variety of activities. Survivor Network events include trauma-informed yoga, crafts, puzzles and games, listening circles, mindful journaling, and workshops such as intimacy after assault, triggers and panic attacks, or writing your story. The survivor network is a voluntary and confidential group facilitated at least monthly with PEACC staff. Members of the survivor network also receive regular email newsletters with resources, upcoming event information and inspiration.
Trauma Informed Yoga:
PEACC provides trauma informed yoga sessions every semester. This offering is open to our entire campus community. PEACCful Yoga is an open space to connect with your body and breath. You will be invited to notice sensations of movement, stretch, strength and being. The intention of this practice is to provide space to explore, notice and engage in a new way with your body on your own terms.
